sunday drives

sometimes you have those weeks where a busy week is sandwiched by busy weekends and you just feel busy busy busy all the time.
i love sunday afternoons where everything winds down, and you can just breathe.
all growing up, it was a time when i normally went for a drive with loved ones, and just talked, and took in the beautiful world around me.
i love sunday drives.
yesterday i took one with my beautiful niece, and we found this little pocket of gorgeousness.
we really do live in a wonderful place.
all my life i've wondered where my first lil babe would be born.
i've wondered what the hospital would be like, what those first memories would hold.
it now feels surreal as it gets closer every day.
i can't wait to hold you.
i can't wait for you to take in this wonderful world around you.
and i'm so grateful your first home will be in a place so rich in history and beauty.

resting

so, after a few busy weeks of settling in, i ended up hearing words from the doc i dreaded were coming.
bedrest.
at least until my body decides to stop contracting and bring this lil babe here earlier than it's supposed to.
i was hoping those words wouldn't come, because i know there is so much to do, so many ways to help.
but i guess there are lessons i'm supposed to learn.
i'm trying to have a positive attitude about it.
i'm almost completely caught up on editing, and slowing down is helping me to appreciate the little things a little more.
in the mean time, here's a little of what we've been up to since the big move:
girls camp
my most frequent patients.  ticks, stitches, we had a good time :)
i loved getting to hang out with my cute niece.  it's nice to become friends and really get to know each other.

youth conference
i got to be an efy counselor.  i was amazed at the strength of the youth here.  they are and always will be examples to me.
and, most importantly, family
i got to meet my new adopted german o-ma, and aunt evie
and i'm learning it's little memories like these that we will take with us wherever we end up.
we're grateful for our time here.  i can't believe how many wonderful people i've met, who've seemed to always have had a place in my heart.

hello pennsylvania

we made it!
after driving across the country, i headed off to girl's camp the day after we got here to help as the camp nurse.  we had a weekend get-a-way, the fourth of july holiday, and are finally settling in to good old pennsylvania. :)
we've loved relaxing with family and getting the chance to catch up.
we hope you had a happy fourth of july.  can you tell ours was? :)
one of my favorite veterans and heroes.  love you pop.
and lil' one is growing like crazy :) this is 23 weeks.  flying by!
i felt my tummy wiggle for the first time at girls camp.  it was the craziest feeling! i had just fallen asleep one night on my little cot, and what felt like a tiny baby limb shot out and my belly moved.  i couldn't believe it! now lil' wiggles every few hours.  kicking things off my belly, including matt. :) ha.

we can't wait to hold you in our arms.
